Visiting Siquijor

Who would ever know that there is an easy way to get to siquijor from Mindanao? Before I went to Siquijor I was also invited by my friend to go together with them but I was hesitant because I was currently in Mindanao specificaly my home town Pagadian and my worries was it would be very expensive to go ther via Cebu, that was the only route I knew then.

Anyhow my friend Aeazy who I was with on my trip in Chasing Waterfalls in Iligan City was actually planning to visit Siquijor and she invited me, we were the same town so I guess this is a good deal.

Route Pagadian – Siquijor via Plaridel

Plaridel to Siquijor schedule was confusing, some site I scanned said ferry will leave at 4pm in the afternoon and some says of leaving at 12nn.

Whatever it may be we took an early ride going to Ozamis at 6am via Van rather than the Bus, cause it would be cheaper and more faster, our fare was only 100php. We arrived at Ozamis around 7:30 am and quickly we transfered to another Van that will take us to plaridel port that cost 110php.

After an hour and a half or two we then reached Plaridel, the driver dropped us in location where tons of lining up motorcycle, the port from there is not really that far though, so watch out for decietful drivers.

When we reached at the port, a lot of people were already there falling in line trying to get a ticket, and then we realized that there is only 1 trip on that day, it was really a blessing in disguise deciding to go early.

The scenario was, 1 trip, 1 ferry for 3 destination. Yes you read it right, the first stop is to Larena Siquijor, then to Bohol then to Cebu, they divided equally the slot for each destination. So that was the crowed all about, most passenger were off to Bohol and Cebu so nothing to be worried about.

The crowed was very frustrating it was a very little port and ticket were given manually so the process was very slow, just imagine the heat of the sun and the sweat running through your body just to get a 490 ferry ticket.

To wrap it up.

Pagadian to Ozamis = 100php
Ozamis to Plaridel = 110php
Going to Plaridel Port by Motorcab = 15php
Plaridel to Larena Siquijor by Ferry = 490php

Total of 715php
